What board certification means for you
After dental school, an orthodontist completes two to three more years of full-time residency in tooth movement, jaw growth and facial development. Fewer than one in five then go on to become Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics — a voluntary credential earned through written and clinical examination and renewed across a career. Both of our orthodontists hold it.

Dr. Dante A. Gonzales

Dr. Gonzales has been creating beautiful, healthy smiles since 1998 and takes an active role in meeting and exceeding the standards of his profession. He is a board-certified orthodontist — a step only about half of orthodontists take — and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists along with other national, state and local dental associations.
He and his team attend continuing-education courses throughout the year to stay current with developments in orthodontics. Dr. Gonzales has served as an associate clinical professor in the orthodontics department at the University of the Pacific Dental School, and since 2010 he has sat on the editorial advisory board of Dr. Oz’s website.

Dr. Paul J. Kim
DDS, MS · Diplomate, American Board of Orthodontics
Dr. Paul J. Kim is a board-certified orthodontist dedicated to creating healthy, confident smiles for patients of all ages. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from Cornell University before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the UCLA School of Dentistry, then completed his Master of Science in Orthodontics and a one-year orthodontic internship at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.
With more than four years of private-practice experience, he provides comprehensive care including traditional braces, Invisalign® and Spark™ clear aligner therapy, Phase I treatment and temporary anchorage devices (TADs).
As an American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) Diplomate, Dr. Kim is committed to providing exceptional, evidence-based orthodontic care with a personalized approach. Outside the office, he enjoys connecting with patients and helping them achieve confident, healthy smiles. His warm personality, attention to detail, and passion for orthodontics make him a wonderful addition to the team.
