Throughout this phase, our team closely monitors progress, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal results. The duration of the active phase varies depending on the complexity of the case, ranging from several months to a few years.

Following the active treatment phase, patients transition into the retention phase, where retainers are worn to maintain the newly aligned teeth. This phase is essential for preventing relapse (teeth getting crooked again). Most orthodontists will recommend lifetime retention. Once the teeth are straightened, it’s very important to keep wearing the retainer as long as you want to keep the teeth straight.
